Penne Arrabbiata Recipe with Virginia Pasta
Penne Arrabbiata is a famous Italian recipe.
A spicy hot pasta dish, that’s very easy and quick to prepare. The spicy sauce is made from garlic, tomatoes, and dried red chilli peppers cooked in olive oil.

250g of Virginia Penne Pasta
1 can of Chopped Tomatoes
2 tablespoons of Olive Oil
1 Onion (chopped)
1-2 cloves of Garlic (chopped)
1/4 teaspoon of Chilli Flakes
2-3 pinches of dried Basil
Salt and Black Pepper
1 pinch of Sugar
1/4 cup of Parmesan Cheese (Grated)
Method: select a small saucepan and gently cook the onion and garlic in the olive oil until the onion has softened. Then add the can of chopped tomatoes, chilli flakes, basil and sugar. Season the sauce with salt and pepper and simmer. Stir frequently for 40-45 minutes until a nice thick sauce is produced. Cook the pasta in salted water until cooked and drain. Add the pasta to the sauce and mix well. Serve and add a sprinkle of grated parmesan. More Chilli can be added to achieve a hotter / more spicy flavour. Also consider adding some cooked chicken or spicy meatballs… enjoy!
