Increase your energy levels after fasting with Virginia

After a long day fasting it’s essential not to break your fast and eat a huge meal straightaway that will be hard for your body to digest. Instead consider increasing your energy levels and gradually introducing food back into your body with a Date Oat Milkshake. The Oats will help lower cholesterol and elevate your mood, whilst the Dates will strengthen bones, provide a good source of energy and support your digestion.

Our recipe is quick and easy to prepare and can be made in advance.

Ingredients:

10 Seedless Dates

1 Cup of Milk

3 Tablespoons of Virginia Oats

1 Tablespoon of Honey

 Method:

Soak the dates in ½ cup milk for 30 minutes. Meanwhile roast the oats in a non-stick saucepan for around 5 minutes or until they turn slightly brown. Let the oats cool and then combine the oats and dates in a blender and grind. Add the remaining milk and honey and blend well. Serve chilled.
